What we like most about our immersions is involve the students in our ever day life! We notice how they improve and get confidence speaking Spanish while participate in free activities in Spanish with us. Learnig how to cook Spanish gastronomy, watching Spanish movies, reading or going out to walk along the sea promenade. Always it’s time to learn Spanish!

Spanish Cooking Workshop
This is a fun workshop! 🙂 Every student who has stayed with us, always talks about food in their reviews. You can check it out! 😉 Food is an important thing in our house. You will learn how to cook typical Spanish dishes that you like most, such as “tortilla española”, “gazpacho”, “paella” with the ingredients just picked from the Agualivar orchard. And of course, what is a cooking workshop without starving diners? 🙂
Painting with watercolor
Learn how to paint with watercolor. Enjoy this quiet activity in our garden with Estefanía. She is a professional artist and will teach you from scratch. Don’t panic! She is very patient and willing to share her knowledge. All the materials are included and it is free. Besides, you will keep speaking in Spanish and learn specific vocabulary.
Spanish cinema Workshop
One day a week we have a Spanish Cinema Workshop at home. Activities before and after the movie to learn more about different topics: Spanish history, cultural topics, stereotypes, urban culture… We have a vaste video library so there is no room for boredom! Wednesdays are spectator’s day, so if our students prefer, we can go to the local cinema.
Our house and school is close to a nice seafront promenade. One of our favorite walks is a 9km route along this promenade until the maritime port of Caleta de Vélez. It is lively and quiet at the same time, perfect for relaxing and speaking Spanish in a natural way. The best momment to do it? At dusk. 🙂
Be social and take part in our life!
With our homestay programs we look for a different experience. Not only a Spanish course but also a real immersion. We are proud of having very good friends around the world who were students at first. We are always willing to share our time with our students. The chance to take part in our daily life increases your confidence considerably and improves your communication skills but also contributes to an excellent experience.
What can you do? Helping us to cook every day, go with us to the vegetable garden and chicken coop, feed the chickens, poor the garden, take a swim in the pool or go to the beach, have a coffe with us and our friends, play some games like scrabble…. It sounds like hard work, doesn’t it? 😉 You will be speaking and improving your Spanish without realising it.
